Anxious? Puff up like a Pufferfish! 🐡
In the story, the pufferfish puffs up for fun. But your child can do it to calm down.
Breathe in deep (puff up your belly big!)
Hold it...
Breathe out slow (deflate).

Students of color benefit from meditation in schools. Here's why While the program can’t replace mental health care, teachers say it’s helping.

I'm glad to see that mindfulness is being included as one way to help BIPOC children, and not just those coming from affluence.

In this moment from 'Thank You, Mind,' Delaney teaches Finn how saying “Thank you, mind,” helps create space between himself and his thoughts. Instead of being bossed around by frustrating ideas, he can simply notice them, acknowledge them, and let them float away—like leaves drifting on the pond.

Finn takes a deep breath and gives it a try. “Thank you, mind!” he says, and as he chuckles, his frustration starts to feel a little lighter.

One of the 5 💡 Comprehension Questions follows:

What did Delaney teach Finn to say when he had a frustrating thought?

a) “Thank you, mind!”
b) “I will listen to you forever.”
c) “This isn’t a thought, but the truth.”

✨ Teaching kids mindfulness through storytelling helps them learn how to navigate their emotions with curiosity and self-compassion. Grab the full story + interactive comprehension cards in our shop!
