I feel like this dude with the hat and the cigarette could be yanked unceremoniously out of any era of American history past like 1935 and be exactly the same character. #folkhorrorfriday #mjrfilms
What a lovely film. Not the most original, but its own twist on the concept, and the final act really hit me. I love when a horror movie (though this one is quite mild) isn't afraid to be sweet and sad as well. #horrorsky #mjrfilms

A still from Honey Bunch. It shows the main character, a white woman with blond hair (Grace Glowicki), in a bathtub. She has a slightly confused and bewildered expression, mouth open slightly, tears forming in her eyes. Green plants sit in the background.
Okay, at the encouragement of @christaqua.bsky.social, I'm back to watching Honey Bunch on Shudder. Started it and got waylaid. Hadn't had time to go back and finish (was only 20 minutes in), so now I've got a pizza and one-third of an edible ... let's finish this up. #nowwatching #mjrfilms
While the first two thirds were a bit slow and removed from the real goings on (I didn't care all that much about the family drama), the last act is really something. A more mature film than his previous two and one that leaves more of an impression for sure. Dug this one. #thebrood #mjrfilms
Frank dressing his kid up in basically the exact same red outfit as the little monster that killed both her grandparents is ... quite a choice. I'm also pretty sure I had that exact jacket as a kid, or damn close. #thebrood #mjrfilms
Samantha Eggar putting in some real intense work in this one. She's way scarier even than the little monster kid running around bludgeoning people to death. Her eyes are *wild*. #thebrood #mjrfilms
A still from The Brood. It shows a man in a brown Adidas athletic outfit with a towel wrapped closely around his neck. He has an odd combover and is red in the face. The subtitles read, "I mean, Raglan encouraged my body to revolt against me."
The inimitable Howard Shore lending his talents, though so far this hasn't had all that much music to speak of. Lots of dialogue, this one is quite talky and rather slow outside of the one murder so far. #thebrood #mjrfilms
