My students loved the mystery of what Mabel is up to at the start of “Every Monday Mabel” by @jashar.bsky.social and then seeing each of the secondary characters reappear at the Big Moment. A great read aloud!

I can't think of another book besides "Fireworks" (@matthewburgessj.bsky.social & Cátia Chien) that has led every class to gasp audibly when we get to the "finale." The energy of a summer day leads to an awe-inspiring night sky. Exquisite.

Both of my fifth grade classes picked Home in a Lunchbox as their #mockcaldecott pick. Looking forward to seeing if we’re right on Monday. I’m wondering if The Yellow Bus or My Daddy is a Cowboy are also contenders.
