The ALX4 dimer structure provides insight into how disease alleles impact function - Nature Communications How homeodomain proteins achieve sufficient DNA binding specificity is poorly understood. Here, the authors use a structural approach to show that the ALX4 homeodomain achieves DNA binding specificity using asymmetric protein and DNA interactions.
