I love flying the Joby in #MSFlightSim. Maybe I'll need to find an excuse to have a ride in one once they're in service. Although I imagine it won't be cheap...

So today I'm gonna play #flightsim quite a but. I'm such a nerd i fly a crj700 route out of ohare. Simulator flights to st Louis, grand rapids, Indianapolis and maybe Toronto today. #ILS #FLIGHTSIM2020 #MSFLIGHTSIM i may have to upgrade to 2024 soon lol.
So that's half way around my #MSFlightSim tour of the UK coast. Time to start heading back south, along the east coast.
The view (in #MSFlightSim) from the most northerly point on the most northerly island in the UK - Out Stack. The next thing you'll come to in that direction is the North Pole.
That's live weather. It is a bit grey. Could be worse - 10 minutes ago it was raining a lot.

It is a bit windy in Scotland right now, so I thought I'd try a little #MSFlightSim experiment. How would a light aircraft (Cessna 172 in this case) behave in high winds (60+ knots right now in Islay). The answer is, like a kite! Meet the VTOL Cessna 172 😂

One of the new things you can do in #MSFlightSim 2024 is get out of the aircraft and walk around. That's when you really discover how detailed the simulated world is. Here is a quick look at Barra airport after landing...

I always enjoy flying into Barra airport - apparently the only tidal beach runway that takes scheduled flights! Not that being a beach is a big problem in the Joby S4. I am enjoying flying this thing, although I do still need more practice.

I love flying at sunset and the way the light reflects off the water and the aircraft. The effect still delights me. Annoyed, though, that I forgot to fly low enough to see Caernarfon Castle properly. #MSFlightSim

I love the attention to detail in #MSFlightSim, like the tyre tracks after landing the Joby S4 on a beach.
If the live weather in #MSFlightSim is to be believed, it was pretty windy in Ireland earlier this afternoon. Bumpy flying in a light aircraft...!
Another reproduction in #MSFlightSim of one of my favourite photos. I couldn't get to the same viewpoint - too many auto-generated trees in the way.
Being able to get out of the aircraft in #MSFS2024 and walk around is a really nice feature...!
This might be my new #MSFlightSim hobby. Flying to places I've taken some of my favourite photos, walking to the exact location and reproducing the photo as much as possible. The beach here looked a little different, and I didn't have my lens ball in the SIM, but I still like the result!
My gaming PC is old. I only really use it for #MSFlightSim and it runs #MSFS2020 fine, but #MSFS2024 refuses to even start. I've been running 2024 in Xbox Cloud with a game controller. It works OK that way, but I've just gone back to 2020 on the PC using a proper joystick and it is so much better!
Just tried taking a Cessna 172 up in #StormDarragh. I couldn't get it off the ground without crashing, never mind landing it. This is not the weather for light aircraft. #MSFlightSim
A photo of the Warwick Uni campus taken from a hot air balloon in #MSFlightSim. Although things don't always look so good at ground level, from this height it almost always looks amazing.
#msflightsim doing a job of making me "homesick"
Not sure why it's taken time to get back into this but there we are.
Learning to fly*

A little bit of practice in the Volocopter Volocity in #MSFlightSim, flying from home to the ICC in Birmingham. Wouldn't be allowed to cross the BHX flight path like that in real life! I hope Birmingham City centre looks better in MSFS 2024 - in 2020 it is awful.
