The subname "City of Guilds" was added. Both Brady Dommermuth, the creative lead, and I felt the extra name wasn't necessary, that the cards would sell the concept of the guilds. Then we both went on vacation during the same week.

The rare creatures in Champions of Kamigawa were legendary. Someone said we can't make a legendary vanilla (as the Legends ones weren't that exciting). I said, we could and came up with the idea of a 2/2 for W. Note creature power level was lower then.
