A macro capture of a small branch completely coated in ice. There are icicles hanging down from the more sturdy parts of the branch. Even the sprouts are covered in ice. This is another one of those phenomenons of ice behavior that I'm fascinated about. The reason the branch look like this is because there is a small waterfall nearby, which often splashes on it.

Even though there's currently not much interesting to photograph, I still found a couple of gems like this one. I have observed lichen as a strange and creepy substance since I was a child. There was just something about the odd coloring and otherworldly shapes that made me feel like I should stay away from it. Though I now know that it's just a tree fungus, I still feel a bit weird when seeing them.
