I've taken a crack at preserving #NCAR 's Java METAR viewer, which is miraculously still up-and-running after all these years. Some reverse engineering of how it ingests data is probably still needed.

Since 1960 #NCAR has made forecasting severe damaging weather possible, & CO official (where it is located) & scientists (#NationalScienceFoundation NSF funds NCAR) are trying to save its work, albeit by breaking it up. NSF is trying to distribute components to various other sites.
