From a New York Times article in 2010, which I just learned galvanized locals to get involved and work to improve the town. Crazy what one published line can do to an entire community.

After squashing a fair number of little flying ants around my office in #newbergoregon, I decided to do some research.
Apparently, there is an annual event called "Flying Ant Day," where on warm humid spring days these things emerge and take flight.
