31st August is the Feast of St Aidan, first bishop of Lindisfarne. Nearly forgot to mark it, but a last minute dinner with friends prompted me to make a pie with homegrown apples. Did the same last year, so apple pie for St Aidan is basically the tradition now. #celtic #christianity #newmonasticism
