The parkway is only visible due to the scattered light that comes from the street lamps that are on the right side of the way, right in front of a hedge that covers the whole right frame of the image in pitch black darkness. The lamps really illuminates the foggy surroundings of the light source, while only barely lighting up the parkway beneath the lamps and while there's nothing but pure darkness visible above the lamps. There's a mowed meadow on the opposite – left, side of the parkway, that is lined with bald trees, right along the way. There is not much else to see on that side because the darkness is way stronger than the somewhat weak light the lamps are giving off. Because of that, all that is there behind the visible meadow, is nothing but void.
