NOCS (New Opportunities for Community and Support) has been a lifeline for children and young adults in the Blandford area for many years. As a small local charity, NOCS provides support, development opportunities and fun for people with high levels of social anxiety and difficulties with social interaction, particularly due to autism spectrum conditions (ASC), such as Asperger's, or mental health challenges; a place where they can build confidence, friendships, and social skills through the power of tabletop gaming.

Our centre on Salisbury Street in Blandford will be familiar to many, and our membership continues to grow. With so few youth services left in the area, NOCS has become a vital resource for families who have nowhere else to turn. We're open six days a week, including evenings, and we've seen countless young people thrive because they finally found a place where they feel understood and included.

But right now, we are facing a serious funding crisis, and our future is under real threat.
Post-Covid, securing financial support has become increasingly difficult. Without stable monthly funding of £4,000, we cannot keep our premises open or retain the staff who make this work possible. We are exploring every option, but we also need the support of our local community to survive.
