University of
Pittsburgh
Dear Pitt students,
We're pleased to announce that all students now have access to Claude for Education — an artificial intelligence assistant that can support your learning and academic work. Claude is part of our Generative Al @ Pitt offerings, which also include Google Gemini and NotebookLM. You're encouraged to explore which options work best for your needs and align with GenAl policies in your courses by talking to your instructors and relevant academic staff. In addition, the University offers resources to help you explore GenAl in your academic work. For example, the University Library System provides guidance on Al research tools; the University Center for Teaching and Learning offers resources on academic integrity and responsible Al use; and the Hub for Al and Data Science Leadership (HAIL) offers opportunities to learn about Al applications across disciplines.
Claude for Education is an advanced conversational Al assistant built by Anthropic for educational environments. You interact with Claude through natural conversation for writing, research, document analysis and problem-solving. Whether analyzing sources, working through complex problems, exploring difficult concepts or developing ideas, Claude offers advanced Al capabilities with enhanced privacy protections.
This initiative is part of Pitt's partnership with Anthropic and Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support your learning and prepare you for workplaces where GenAl tools are increasingly common.
I hate it here.
