Same layout as last picture- open sketchbook on old bird guide. Left page shows four chaotic purple birds without names included, right shows a big screech owl drawn in black ink with the word screech written vertically next to it. Above the purple birds are the words, Feb 23 2026, birds.

These tiles were picked up after someones home revovation project. They were smaller than I wanted so I combine several to make a canvas - if i recollect they're about 7 cm.

I rescued this stretched canvas piece and continued it on Wednesday.

It will accompany me to Shrewsbury at the weekend and I hope it might be a distraction for me. I find I hyperfocus with art.

I only really spy this piece when I lay ensconced on the sofa.
I do have prints, but it's on deconstructed cardboard, and the charcoal over rivets and bumps creates a 3D piece.

Photo of my small mixed media art journal. Showing today's piece. A loose sketch of a hare done with my non dominant hand. (left hand for me). I first laid down some collage papers to the diary page. Vintage Sheet music paper, dress pattern tissue paper, gold metallic spotty tissue paper. Some mark making added with an orange neo colour 2 water soluble crayon. The hare was then drawn with a black stabilo all water soluble pencil. Then some Muted Pink acrylic ink was dropped onto the page and the page lightly sprayed with water. After the page dried I added some detail back into the eye with the orange crayon and a paint marker. At the top of the photo shows the materials I used and other items on my desk, a pine cone, a fox skull, a pebble and some crystals.

This photo is of my larger art journal. Here I have done a two page spread. Still using my non dominant hand I have sketched two hares. One to the left, front facing. One to the right, three quarter facing. I used pencil, charcoal, coloured pencils in muted pink, orange and yellow. Around the drawings are areas of scribbled journal writing in the coloured pencils. This spread is a work in progress.

(thread 1/2) Low spoon day. Warm cardigan, cosy lo-fi beats, brewing magical soothing tea; and my art journals, where Hare is calling to me. Using my non-dominant hand to stay loose.

Biolumenescent Bitter oyster (Panellus stipticus)

I like to explore marking techniques pointalism being one I often use. The build-up of dots. This piece was made with crosses 'x'. I had to mark quickly and repetitively to build up depth.

I think this followed my last.
An unformed, possibly incompleted style avenue I went down.

This muse visited and sat for me for an afternoon.

I really enjoyed drawing this piece. Playing with the three colours, two atop an initial outline in black and the third as a background.

My muse was a guy on Grindr who kept canceling on me so I switched energies into art.

“I wanted to use the LSD trial to think more broadly about the lives of the blue flowers, Voyria, and their fungal relationships.
…[W]ithout photosynthesis, Voyria had no way to make the energy, rich sugars and lipids they needed to grow.
Nonetheless, I learned a valuable lesson. … [T]he LSD had forced me to admit that I had an imagination, and I now saw fungi differently.”

At a molecular level, fungi, and humans are similar enough to benefit from many of the same biochemical innovations.” – MS

Prototaxites – giant fungi – were scattered across the landscape in the Devonian time period – 400 million years ago. Plants existed during that time, but none were taller than 1 m. Prototaxites grew to 1 m in diameter and 8 m high and they continued to tower over the land for about 40 million years.
