QUIC is a great example of the limitations of the seven layer OSI model discussed in Chapter 1. An application requests QUIC transport. QUIC is built on TLS and UDP. QUIC is the application transport, yes, but that transport is built on TCP and UDP. As the sysadmin you need to understand your application’s layers and how they fit on the network layers, but always look for more garbage nailed onto the seven layer model.
