January is a long month, both in weeks & for my bank balance after Christmas! This is why I often do a no-spend month. I’ve been doing jobs such as painting our spare room with paint I bought months ago. This is it before & after. I think the pink is lush! Still got the woodwork to do. #nospendmonth

Another week of not buying shit I don’t need for #nospendjanuary. This meant taking water and coffee out with me and being dragged around charity shops by my daughter but not buying anything, plus using up all the food in the house instead of purchasing more. #nospendmonth #frugalliving

A challenge this week: had to take Archie to the vet for an intermittent limp. Had to fork out £31 for meds. I didn’t think twice about that, as looking after a beloved pet is not unnecessary spending. If you are doing a no-spend month, how is it going for you? #nospendmonth #nospendjanuary

As part of my no-spend January, I am batch cooking. I made 2 lots of soup for the freezer: Stilton & broccoli (leftover Stilton & broccoli reduced to 20p) + spicy parsnip. I bought extra of Lidl’s 8p veg with this in mind)

Well, the weather is wild and windy and there’s nowhere open, so it should be pretty easy to spend no money today. I always start the year with a no-spend month, to help recover from the excess of Christmas. Anyone joining me?

Anyone out there ever attempted a "no spend month" or longer? I need to change my relationship with the dopamine the "add to cart" button gives and dramatically change my spending habits.... Curious what trouble spots you may have encountered while making the attempt?

A no-spend month is when you avoid all non-essential purchases for 30 days. 💸 Focus on needs like groceries and bills while skipping extras like dining out or shopping. Plan meals, use what you have, and track progress to stay on track. Have you tried a no-spend challenge? #NoSpendMonth #SaveMoney
