Active mobile phone screen landscape.
Unlike many of my friends, I don't save lanyards or badges from conferences but I do screencap the most active part of my phone's screen before I retire a conference's app. #oeb24
We should have walked across the street to attend a DIN Forum session but got caught up in one-on-one chats during extended coffee sessions. Free Coffee FTW! #OEB24
Full day of curriculum-enhancing toolsets that can bolt directly onto learning frameworks.
Did you hear about FD1? A full day hands-on workshop with @educatefran.bsky.social and @topgold.bsky.social Rather intense educator-led multimodal creativity with printed and epub takeaways. #OEB24
When I couldn't decide which panel to attend at #OEB24 I just watched reports on Bluesky with educators like @pamelaaobrien.bsky.social
Educatefran and Gavin Henrick in full flow.
Enjoyed a very productive #OEB24 in Berlin while listening to deep thinking educators like EducateFran and GavinHenrick.
Amazing talk on #VR applications in Ed - ranging from survival simulations as leadership training to escape games in pharmacy education - at #OEB24. Four amazing women who know their shit (plus me hosting the session). We need more of this.
Lots to process after #OEB24! Good conversations, great presentations and sessions and plenty of ideas to consider
We just finished our session at #oeb24
It was my bold act of the month to do a tech demo at a conference. It felt like a huge tonal shift from big picture thinking to the practical building of TECAs and yet it was immensely valuable. We’re charging forward with the community alongside us 💕💪
In other news my brain has officially melted, #OEB24 has been a mixed bag of a few interesting points and cases and alittle too much AI hot air. I missed more solid discussions of how we can teach (in HE) in a world of AI ...I guess I should have put in a session proposal, but going was last min.
So I survived #OEB24 - a bit out the habit, since Tw died, so forgot to tweet. But I did meet up with a friend I met at OEB09 (or was it 2008?) through a tweetup in Marlene Bar. And still have more friends from that night... #OldTwitterNostalgia
Lecture by Lezel Roddeck
So many speakers making high promises and flashy bets on the future of AI here at #OEB24, but barely any attendance at the session about #GDPR, #privacy and the upcoming #AIAct.
Worrying to see to be honest.
Great talk though by Lezel Roddeck (Bucerius Law School) on the topic.
When you’re trying to decide between 2 panels at #OEB24 so you start in one and move to the other! Food for thought in both …
I’m really enjoying it - it’s always good to hear other people’s thoughts and ideas and there are plenty of those at #OEB24!
The bizarre contradiction between many powerpoints still using photos clearly taken during Covid, and then the speeches not mentioning it all, is a bit unreal.
It's like we collectively agreed to ignore the crisis, including some of its valuable lessons for society and education.

Final day at #oeb24
So who makes an #OEB24 starter pack here?
Very interesting research on Gen AI in Education - a transformative learning perspective on educators adoption and adaptation by JaeHwan Byun #OEB24
Trustworthy collaboration with AI -Liana Razmerita #OEB24
here are the slides from my talk at #oeb24 in Berlin futuristgerd.com/2024/11/my-p...
I got my favourite book signed!
I have been following @futuristgerd.bsky.social for a long time and I finally met him in person today. One takeaway:
💪 Industrial processes augmented muscle
🧠 Now Ai augments the brain
💕 What about the heart?💕

Great to meet you at #OEB24, Becky! You're totally right that things haven't changed much in the past in L&D. On the other hand, looking forward, I believe things are about to change. The old model focused on learning content will be challenged. What comes in its place, we will have to see...
One of my best moments of the year was when Nitya Kuthiala was selected for 30U30 at #OEB24
For leaders out there: it’s not about what you can “get” people to do, it’s about what you can enable people to do.
Seeing her present today was a full circle moment.
Photo of a conference presentation slide with the text 'Students as Innovation Partners: AI in Higher Education'
A short walk down the street (in the rain) for the next session - Students as Innovation Partners: AI in Higher Education. #OEB24
The first of three student and teacher learning enhancement sessions I selected for today at #oeb24
Networking done, more conference swag collected, now for 3 short presentations on AI-Driven Learning to Shape the Future of Education - AI Achievements from Professional Learning, AI Unleashed: Redefining the Learning Experience, Attitudes and Guidelines for AI for Learning and Teaching at #OEB24
