Newspaper advertisement for Underwood's Sardines, featuring a drawing of a long-taloned, pointy-eared and pointy-tailed horned devil standing in front of a tin of sardines, with the slogan "Taste the Taste" over one of his outstretched arms. Beneath, the headline is "Underwood's / The Greatest Sardines in the world / for 10 to 15 cents." There's more copy from the makers of Underwood Deviled Ham, William Underwood Co. of Boston.

in 1921, this Nosferatu-adjacent creature was meant to entice you to buy sardines. Presumably.

Old 1913 newspaper advertisement that reads: If you cannot think of anything else let us show you a knife. For boys, girls, ladies and men. Prices 25c to $5.00. Clark Witbeck Co. Community Silver Headquarters

"Let us show you a knife" really didn't take off as a marketing catchphrase. Let's bring it back.
