It was part of the Caledonian Railway line which ran from Rutherglen, through Glasgow and on out to Dumbarton. This section of the old line now forms part of the cycle path between Glasgow and Loch Lomond.

The entrance to an abandoned railway tunnel leading beneath Kelvingrove Park in the West End of Glasgow. Once part of a line built by Caledonian Railways in the 1890s, it closed in the 1960s.
