Senate panel unanimously backs broader K–12 civics alignment and open resources plan Committee approved the second substitute of HB 312 to align civics across grades, require U.S. History 1/2 sequencing, promote spiral curriculum and develop high‑quality open educational resources (subject to appropriation).

The Senate Education Committee has taken a bold step toward enhancing K–12 civics education with a unanimous vote on a new bill designed to create a cohesive and engaging curriculum.
