The world's oldest unsolved murder is of Ötzi, whose frozen body was found in 1991 naturally mummified in the Alps. He was killed around 3230 BC, during the Copper age. For perspective, that's a short time after the ancient Sumerians were busy inventing the earliest known written language. His body has been extensively studied and has taught us a lot about our early human ancestors. However, his murder will probably remain unsolved.
