A5 #ParkChats : I’m an overpacker. I plan for every type of weather and every type of sickness/injury. and Water! I’m always over prepared with water. Running out terrifies me.

A7 : #ParkChats I also alternate between water and Nuun (I love how compact they are and no sugar). Salty snacks usually include pretzels, pistachios, trail mix, and Chomps grass fed beef sticks.

A4 #ParkChats : Olympic NP (Hall of Moses is said to be 1 of the quietest places on Earth!), Santa Cruz Island in Channel Islands (only 5 of us got off the boat that day), Wind Cave (because the elevator was broken so many people canceled their plans but I didn’t know til I got there).

A9 #ParkChats : Boots Bar & Grill in Medora, ND makes a pretty great bison burger. Maybe not unusual, but I did feel a twinge of guilt about eating one when just a few miles away the next morning, I got to see a lone bison meander through our campsite. Still wondering if that makes me a bad person.🙂

A7 #ParkChats : Beer tasting (one of my favorite pastimes) in Hot Springs NP at Superior Bath House. The only brewery in the world to utilize thermal spring water to make their beer. And it’s tasty!

A4: #ParkChats The only park I’ve visited outside of the U.S. is Waterton Lakes National Park in Canada as part of my Glacier NP trip. It was a (long) day trip. I had time for a short hike and high tea at the Prince of Wales Hotel.

Q3: #ParkChats If you’re doing multiple parks in one trip, allow at least 2-3 days in each park. I also highly recommend paying the money for the guided tours (buses, boats, trams, jeeps, etc. ) it’s an excellent way to see a lot of the park and learn about it’s history.

Q2: #ParkChats I loved the couple of national parks we visited in our RV when our kids were teenagers. But I really fell in love (aka became OBSESSED) with them when I started solo travel in 2019. Now, every chance I get, I’m checking a few more off the list! I have a goal to see them all by 2030.

A4 #ParkChats Definitely spiders. Any photos you see me take of them are super zoomed in, and under duress. When I was little, I had no problem with them, so I'm trying to overcome a fear that developed as a teen... probably related to my allergy of spider bites.
