Winter time in the orchard. Maybe less photogenic but still glorious moments as the sun rises. The trees look bare but are not dead, just resting. Building within the buds the complex organelles needed for next year’s growth - blossoms and leaves. #orchards #appletrees #peartrees

Just saw an article about Callery or Bradford pears. They are lovely to look at. And smell like rotten fish (I think they kind of smell like the miasma from a boys college dorm)... The U of Alabama used to be covered in these, esp in front of the library. Ugh! #springtrees #peartrees
