A single white crocus with a few purple streaks on the 2 inner petals. The anthers are covered with golden pollen. 4 grassy leaves with a white stripe in the middle are also visible. There are other little green plants around the base of the crocus plant.
This white crocus in our garden is untouched by the recent heavy snow too.

Thought the #WhiteFlowers #WildflowerHour hashtags would be at least a week early for the Sand Crocus, but the first emerged yesterday. The earliest in the last 20 years, with 2007, with the average 1st date is 25th March. Less sun today so they remained tightly shut, 🤞for a sunny Easter Weekend.

My favourite #WhiteFlowers this week - a perfect Blackthorn flower.
Not fully open, the gorgeous white petals cup the reproductive parts. The greenish-yellow Style and Stigma in the centre, surrounded by the Stamen - fabulous orange "flags" (Anthers) atop the Filaments.
