a cartoon of The Master from Doctor Who as portrayed by Peter Pratt in the 1976 story "The Deadly Assassin".

the Master, at the end of his regeneration cycle, appears as a decaying corpse, kept alive by his mind. His skin is purplish, and his lips and eyelids are gone, leaving his teeth visible in a rictus grin, and his eyes as blank orbs. He wears a dark robes, and wears the Sash of Rassilon - a series of golden rectangles - around his neck.

Just casually thinking about the fact that Doctor Who's regeneration limit was both introduced and taken away as an excuse to bring back The Master.

a cartoon of Peter Pratt in his portrayal of The Master in Doctor Who from 1976.

In this story, "The Deadly Assassin", the Master has all but used up his regenerations (hence his near-corpse-like appearance) and is trying to steal energy from Gallifrey to prolong his life.

He is wearing long black robes (with a hood) and has purplish corpse-like skin. His eyes are wide (no eyelids) and so is his rictus grin.

He is also wearing the Sash of Rassilon around his shoulders (it is a golden very clunky looking thing that reaches almost down to his feet)
