Many moons age, we found the lid of a 'vintage' Polly Pocket Jewelled Palace (1992) washed up on a beach in Cornwall. Years later, we found its base.

Brightly coloured Gateway plastic bag on black background

Not sure how old this plastic bag is but Gateway supermarkets have been around since the 1960s. In 1990 they began to be rebranded as Somerfield. Exposed by shifting sands and found during one of our recent beach cleans. #plasticarchaeology #Anthropocene

Old worn red Fairy Liquid cap on fabric background.

These old Fairy Liquid caps featuring the embossed or raised Fairy baby often turn up on beaches. We don't know when the baby was first put on caps or what year it was discontinued - not sure if anyone does. Little scraps of detergent history #plasticarchaeology #Anthropocene

Tiny plastic doll with outsized head lying among sand, shells, driftwood and pot rubber.

Unusual doll washed up from the seabed last night. Does anyone recognise it? We wonder if it might be quite old, or just very seaworn. It's 6cm high.
