This little credit card pcb board of a synth absolutely kicks out an impressive and rich sound. It does not sound like a toy or a gimmick at all. It does seen limited to a single key though.

Yes, it's an exposed circuit board with an aggressively tight battery clip

I once let a colleague borrow it and they brought it back to me less than an hour later because it stopped working. I had to bend the contacts closer together
