18 days in the deep field at Bunger Hills and it was definitely time to wash my hair: at this point it has gone from festival hair (with dry shampoo) to festy hair

Now I’m fresh, glam and fruit scented

Phew…flying out to Bunger Hills tomorrow after a crazy week and a bit at Casey station prepping our team’s cargo with the ops and science folk, and checking all my medical kit

Excited to be heading to the deep field

It’s an Adélie penguin

It’s my placeholder penguin til I can sort my photos from an epic day out walking on the sea ice around the Swain Island group ~40 minutes away from Casey station

Saying g’day to my penguino buddies at the Antarctic Circle

Rather apt as I began my polar career at Casey and had a photo shoot with outgoing winter doctor at this very same sign 14 years ago

Best part of waiting for Antarctic flight weather windows is making the most of the little things you can’t do while south 💜🐧

The essentials of #polardoc life

The canned stuff tastes best, followed by the 600ml bottles. Fountain mix is a hard no

Only thing missing is an orange, but this is what the crew of the Nuyina handed to me on boarding from Macca and my heart nearly burst

Like the emperor penguin I live in Antarctica (or the sub-Antarctic like the kings) most of the time and journey home for breaks in between

This season’s #polardoc work is supporting the Denman Terrestrial Campaign at Bunger Hills, Antarctica

I’ll be posting all about it here and on instagram
