This is a timelapse from mid-December till now from the bird hide at north pools, Portbury Wharf Nature Resernve. I take a photo every week. I love watching the changing of the seasons. Can't wait till I have a year of these. #PWNR

Beautiful morning at Portbury Wharf today! We saw two snipe at South Pools plus stonechat, reed buntings, lapwing, oystercatcher, buzzard and more. North pools was mostly gulls (LBB, GBB, BH, herring). Three bullfinch on the way back to the car. #AvonBirds #PWNR

Spied in the alder trees at Portbury Wharf this morning - a little gang of Siskin and a Redpoll.
Haven't seen a Redpoll before, so that was nice to see.

Portbury wharf reserve was lovely this morning. Lots of the usual ducks etc about. Lovely to hear the chiffchaffs starting to sing and we saw a few. The real treat was seeing siskins and a (lesser?) redpoll in the alder trees along the rhyne at the sea wall end. #AvonBirds #PWNR

Good birding at Portbury Wharf today. Flocks of dunlin and black tailed godwits flying over at high tide. The usual ducks (teal, gadwall, tufted, wigeon, mallard, shelduck, shoveler). Lapwing, oystercatcher, heron, a kestrel and two water rail :D #PWNR #AvonBirds

The morning at Portbury Wharf started off rainy but we were lucky and it soon cleared up. 27 lapwing on north pools today, and a curlew which we don’t often see there. The birds have really started singing in the last week or two. #PWNR #AvonBirds

Beautiful winter morning at Portbury Wharf today. The pools weren’t as frozen as last week so more birds on the water and hedgerows were very busy with tits, gold crest, collared doves, redwing etc. reedbuntings and stonechat by north #AvonBirds #PWNR

So dark on this solstice morning. There were a lot of redwing flying about and enjoying all the berries. Nice to see some deer by the pools. We were looking for the reported Siberian chiffchaff but it was impossible to tell for sure if it was or just a regular one. #AvonBirds #PWNR

Sunny winter mornings are so beautiful. The pools at Portbury wharf were pretty quiet except for wigeon, teal and a few lapwing. GS woodpecker, buzzard, reed buntings, goldcrests and zillion tits flitting about in the trees #PWNR #AvonBirds

The most beautiful late autumn morning. Cool fresh air and bright sunshine. I saw my first redwing! It was so hard to get a photo as it was high up in an ash tree and swaying in the wind. Always exciting to see a new bird :D #PWNR #AvonBirds
