In case you wan the team to participate and take care of the test automation, don't EVER let the test engineer choose the tool to begin with.

My previous laziness bites: I really need to fix a test environment for the next changes (after I fix this/these bugs).
And even the quick fixes need to have at least unit tests and minimal amount of changes. '...might as well fix this while I'm in here' is a recipe to failure.
