Printed label onto snowflake pattern cotton fabric. I bonded the fabric to freezer paper and ran through my Brother laser printer. It's not perfect, but not too bad. This is before washing.

The same fabric after washing, cold cycle, gentle. Most of the ink has washed off.

This didn't work so well. I tried freezer paper method to run fabric through my laser printer. It printed OK, but did not survive washing machine (cold cycle, gentle). I ironed to set the ink. Don't know why it didn't work like the video. #quiltsky #quilting #quiltlabel

A colorful assortment of printed name labels, printed mostly in red, using old type on a letterpress proofing press. We printed on scraps of our printed shirts, so our names are printed over large and small polkadots. They are thin strips of fabrics pinned to the studio wall in a collage as we wait for them to dry. One color is yellow with purple polkadots, and other blue plaids with blue polkadots or hot pink tiny polkadots.

Printing up some name labels before dismantling the letterpress type that’s been set for a while. We will patch these with our logo onto the backs of our quilts. What a fun way to use up scraps and we’ve used these as name tags before, too!
