Three Rainbow Lorikeets sitting on a wooden railing. The middle bird is turned to the left towards the one on the left as if to about it do some preening. The background is a blurred green, it was raining lightly. The Rainbow Lorikeet is unmistakable with its bright red beak and colourful plumage. Both sexes look alike, with a blue (mauve) head and belly, green wings, tail and back, and an orange/yellow breast. They are often seen in loud and fast-moving flocks, or in communal roosts at dusk. They are found in most places around Australia.
Rainbows upon wings
Joyousness without limits
Nature’s design plan
(Thought these beauties deserved their own verse.)
