A yellow butterfly (a Cloudless Sulphur) is clinging to the side of a red flower called a Turk's Cap. The flower has a tight red bud with a very tall stamen protruding from its center. Part of the bush on which the flower is attached is showing and the background is blurred greenery. The photo was taken at Hagerman NWR in August.

The Beaver Moon shines above and through two large oak trees, many of the leaves of which have fallen. The moonlight is so bright that it almost looks like a daytime shot, accentuating the whiteness of the nighttime clouds.
