“Uh… Careful there, Yosano-sensei.” She heard Poe say while getting on her tiptoes, which gave the exact extra height needed to finally finish hanging the set of tangled lights in that specific spot. “Don’t worry, I’m fine! Though, if you wanna do the last part, Mr Tallest In The Room, I wouldn’t complain.” “No problem.” He instantly replied. “Just need to finish dressing Karl up and--” “And I could do that!” Ranpo quickly chimed in. “I mean, Karl absolutely adores me, which isn’t a surprise, amirite?” Yosano giggled in response, an affirmative one; the raccoon had taken a liking to Ranpo very fast, to the point Poe tended to joke about how he might as well love him the most at that point.  Not just that, for another recurring joke was how Karl warming up to someone in a heartbeat might as well be a telltale sign of his caretaker having feelings for them.

“Alright. There you go, Ranpo-kun.” Akiko turned around to see Poe placing Karl on Ranpo’s lap, getting down from the stool she had been standing in. Exactly as expected, Karl was nothing but perfectly well-behaved as Ranpo finished dressing him with the tiny jumper Poe himself had made with Yosano’s help… who, in turn, had taken knitting classes from Haruno. “Aw, he looks even cuter than we thought, does he?” She said, already reaching for her phone to take a picture. A bit later, she would also vouch for another pic with the four of them, but… first things first.
