Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 29/03/26 Okay, so this is getting scary. We have passed the 'everyone is grumpy because they have lost sleep' point of British time travel - aka British Summer Time, and I swear Christmas was only last week ... Okay, maybe not Christmas - pictures below indicate that I was in Copenhagen Zoo so I know that was not festive travel - but I am also not ready for the midweek moment where all businesses decide they are funny between the hours and ok midnight and 12:00 pm.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 22/03/26 What a week. In a good way. Spent the first half of it on a much needed mini break to Copenhagen. My first time but feel I may well venture back sometime to explore a little more. We fit plenty in - walked over 52 miles and more than 133,000 steps over the four days - but lots we just didn’t have chance to see too.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 15/03/26 It's been a quiet one this week, book wise. I wish I could say the same about the day job but that's a different story and not one I need to bore you all with. Big changes ahead but also great opportunities and chances for personal development which can never be a bad thing, even at my rapidly advancing age. It has meant that blogging has taken a bit of a back seat and reading has been slow, all down to me and a lack of energy, not the books, which have been excellent.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 15/02/26 This weekend was going to be a nice four day one, but I decided to split my days off so taking this coming Friday instead. Which is my long winded way of saying I have done little to nothing of note all week again. weather was a little lacking on the sunshine front. Even the local canal paths are basically a pile of mud so decent walking out of the question.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 08/02/26 I mean, I really don’t mind this year going so fast as the sooner we get to the summer the better as summer means holiday time! But still… it’s nearly the middle of February and Christmas was only last week so that can’t be correct. I think the problem is that I am far too busy at work, so days disappear in the blink of an eye and I do nothing remotely exciting to slow time down.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 21/12/25 A pretty quick one this week as we head into Christmas week. I had a pretty good week last week. Thursday and Friday off to celebrate Mandie's birthday weekend and a trip to The British Ironwork Centre to sample their afternoon tea pretty much finished us off. Triple cooked chips, sandwiches, slab of cake, a brownie and a scone the size of the side plate and at least 3 inches deep ....

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 14/12/25 Ten days until Christmas. Can you believe it? The good news for me is that this means a maximum of five working days left in 2025. Currently undecided whether to take the additional two days off at the start of next week, so it may well just be three. We’ll see. This week has been a good one. I became an officially certificated ex-apprentice as my Data Technician certificate came up, confirming the bit that I refused to believe until I had it in (printed) writing.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 30/11/25 Well … this has been an interesting week. I have been in a course of advanced colouring in (aka Power BI training). To be fair, it was a lot more than colouring in, and I have a lot to chew over when it comes to the exciting world of calculated measures, columns, data tables and whatever. I also have something else to chew over, an unexpected event from midweek that has left me preoccupied all weekend and my reading has suffered as a result.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 23/11/25 I cannot believe November is nearly over. How is that possible? This past week has both been hellishly slow and passed by in a blur, largely because I was asleep most days when I wasn't at work, aside from when I should have been asleep at which time I was wide awake and primarily in pain, but that's another story. At least I made it through to Thursday in one piece, and my day off on Friday.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 16/11/25 Okay. So this will be a very short post. Worked five whole days this week - what’s that about? - and been nowhere interesting over the weekend as weather was too meh. By meh, I mean wet and miserable so a walk to Costa coffee was the highlight of my two precious days off. I did have something positive this week though - after prepping my post for last Monday, I checked my work emails and found out I passed my apprenticeship.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 09/11/25 Well I survived the week. I am taking that as a positive. Spent half a day being assessed for my apprenticeship mid week which added far more stress to my life than I was expecting. It has meant that my concentration has been poor for a long time now, for that and numerous other reasons, so it is taking me quite some time to read books I know I would normally have devoured.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 12/10/25 After the fabulous time at Chiltern Kills last weekend, this week has been somewhat of an anticlimax. Work, work and more work pretty much sums things up. Put what I hope are the finishing touches in the apprenticeship portfolio, wrote some formula, ate too much rubbish, and generally felt like I could sleep forever. But hey. Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 05/10/25 And there we have it. September is no more and I have just attended what is probably my last book event of 2025 - Chiltern Kills. Held in Gerrard's Cross, this is the third year of this brilliant one day event, with all proceeds raised from tickets sales being in aid of CentrePoint. Even olf Storm Amy couldn't put a downer on this fabulous festival and, as ever, it was a great day filler with great author panels.

Rewind Recap: Weekly Update W/E 10/08/25 And another week has ended, flying by in what has been, quite frankly, a bit of a blur. Work is a little odd at the moment, for a variety of reasons. Not bad odd, but busy and potentially taking unexpected turns. Makes the days pass quickly though, I guess.
