The head was found by two local boys near Richborough Fort who took it home with them where it remained in the family’s garden for several decades before it was brought to the museum.

After some time off #Harry is back on his travels. First stop: #Richborough Castle (Kent). It was known to the Romans as Rutupiae or Portus Ritupis. The fort dates close to the time of the Claudian invasion of Britain in 43AD & it is thought to have been the landing site of that invasion.
