The sun upper right is the literal star of the picture. The overall effect fits well with the windchill the photographer still feels when looking at the photo.

The Roan Highlands on an overcast autumn day. The picture shows the foreground curve of Round Bald covered in natural long shaggy grasses. A near left small native blueberry bush retains its red leaves a bit longer. Beyond the grasslands the mountains roll like ocean waves into the blue distance. Closer mountains show hints of red, orange and yellow but are mainly the brownish color of turning leaves. The sun, low in the horizon (not seen) throws the mountains into a clearer picture of their dimensions and grooves like finger imprints on the mounded mountains.
