A man with trousers and a pointed hat spears the back of a lion and grabs one of its hind legs (bold move there). The lion, with a foliate scroll coming out of its mouth, looks back. There is a small bird filling the space between the lion's legs. The interlace at the left includes a small panel with a pair of tiny birds.
