and a lot hinges on whether a typical Japanese desk calendar starts the week on Sun or Mon

either way, I have a date for the episode but while June-Dec in the anime are like 2007, what follows isn't 2008

Oct 8 is the 10th anniversary of broadcast, with the 20th anniversary of the manga in the middle of 2027

(didn't have the manga in English the first time around, either)

yeah, so, figuring out what the rewatch dates for #Sangatsu are means … having to rewatch it

a previously un-noticed detail!

That's one thing I got to like about #Sangatsu after the initial trauma-recovery drama pulled me in. It has a wide age range in its characters, and a whole arc dealing with someone almost as old as I am (I'm slightly younger than Umiko Chino... can't wait to catch up with that one)

March Comes in Like a Lion, Volume 4 Not long after Rei joins Shimada 8-dan's study club, the mentor notes that the young star reminds him of the current Meijin, Soya. And given the timing this statement carries a bit more weight, as Shimada will soon be facing off against the young master for the annual Shishio title.

well at least vol 4 is published in one way. at this point I can only suspect weak print sales causing the print delay... but who knows.

I was kind of thinking #Sangatsu chapters 7 and 8 might fit in August and September respectively, but the fact that Rei is wearing a cardigan already in 7 makes me think more time has gone by since the chapters set in July.
