The Eagle Nebula (M16) in RGBHα Fly, Eagle, fly! I didn't get enough [OIII] data or any [SII] data for this image this past weekend, so instead I am combining 24 2 minute hydrogen alpha exposures with 43 previous RGB frames. This really sharpened a lot structures within the nebula, including the much heralded Pillars of Creation. Don't just focus on those, though. There is a lot of interestingly sculpted gas and dust in M16, so take your time and look around. Telescope: Celestron Edge HD 925 at f/2.3 with HyperStar Cameras: Atik 314L+ one shot color for RGB Atik 414-EX monochrome with Hα filter for hydrogen alpha channel Preprocessing in Nebulosity; stacking, channel combination, and processing in PixInsight; final touches in Photoshop
