One quickly becomes aware whilst in #CostaRica that #ScarletMacaws fly in pairs. They’re #Monogamous, #Mating for life, sharing the duties of #Parenthood, and apparently enjoying each other’s company.

Scarlet Macaw (Ara macao) Costa Rica
They are a Neotropical bird found in Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Columbia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Honduras and Brazil. At the time I saw this nesting macaw with chicks it was only 1 of 3 pairs in this part of Costa Rica
