Lots of good conversations & support at #SciWri24 last week. I, for one, really needed to be with other science writers & editors. Talking w #journalists (early-career to established) over several days reinvigorated me. We’re all tired, all scared as to the future of #SciComm.
The physicist who was in charge of the panel that prioritized America's future particle physics projects provides a survey of what's ahead - and is grateful that he didn't end up as the "most hated man" in his field of science. #ScienceWriters #SciWri24 cosmiclog.com/2024/11/16/a...
I met Laura as a grad student at UW-Madison in 2019. Even before then, I couldn't go to any #scicomm event without somebody mentioning her name. She's an absolute powerhouse and I consider myself so privileged to ever have gotten to learn from her - including this past weekend at #SciWri24.
Happy #SciWri24 Friday, and here's a post-conference creation.

I think it's really important to think in broad terms about Helmuth's tenure at Scientific American. Because it has been truly remarkable. Bear with me here, because I think this matters and is worth thinking about. 🧵🧪 #SciWri24
