For a brief moment, he thinks there is somehow a spider on his chest, but he swiftly comes to understand that the black mark is huge, sweeping across his chest in an aimless swirl and not any type of bug at all. He slams off the sleeves of his robe and sucks in a breath at the sight of the markings across his skin. They’re enormous, thick as Sanji’s wrist where they glide down his shoulders and ornament his collarbone. “What the fuck?” Sanji asks, pressing two fingers down on the mark that swirls around his nipple. It doesn’t feel any different but once he does it, steam starts to drift from the line he’s touching and he yanks his hand back. “What the fuck?” he repeats as Zoro slides out of him, markings shifting into the air like smoke until the shadowy bastard stands a few feet in front of him. “Is this you?” Sanji demands. He has the urge to swipe at the markings to tug them out of him in some way despite the fact that he knows it’s impossible. There’s something horribly intimate about seeing proof of Zoro inside him, a reminder that for now Sanji’s body is shared.

The slice of light suddenly makes sense. It's a function of Zoro's corporeal body translated into shadow. Sanji expects the shadows to melt off of him entirely but even as soon as they tugged away, they fall back in place. Zoro swears. “Not good enough, I guess.” “Two more?” Sanji confirms as Zoro affixed Shusui to his waist. “Yeah,” Zoro grunts. He reaches up and tugs at the bandana covering his eyes. This time it peels off, revealing a head of tousled gray hair. Sanji has a feeling that's not It's natural color. Zoro's smile returns, smaller this time, as he scrubs his hand through it. His earrings swing as Sanji takes in the entirety of his face for the first time.
