A walk in Shawnee Mission Park (Kansas), in November, several years back, visiting family. Old stomping grounds. Mmmm.

Cellphone Photo: Late in the afternoon on the last Saturday of summer, a couple of people stand on a masonry stabilized dog "beach" on the edge of a cove on an artificial "lake" in the midwest as six dogs emerge from the water, mostly converging on them. (The large black & white dog in mid-pack is Annie. The white dog nearest the camera is Lucy.) One of the people is almost entirely hidden from the camera by the other, a young woman wearing shorts with one arm raised across her eyes to shield them from the low, reddening sun as it slips beneath the horizon: a tree-covered hill forming the other side of the cove. The sun and blue sky are reflected in the cove's nearly still water. Between the sun and the water, the sun creates a rose-colored haze. #ShawneeMissionPark, #Kansas September 2022 samsung SM-G991U: ƒ/1.8, 1/1559, 5.4mm, ISO40

Did I mention dogs? There are six of them. Two of them mine.
I don't know anyone else in the photograph.
Not the most compelling shot, but I'm not sure what kind of spider this is. Any thoughts?

I was fairly surprised by the variety of dragonflies in the same lake area. This was the only green one I spied. (Colorblind me thought it was yellow.)

Dragonflies are incredible insects, but draw closer and they hint at creatures of nightmares. (I mean, don't shut me in a dark room with a larger version. Not cool.)

Honestly, I just like this one because of his Wolverine pose. (Those claws are something else.)

This damselfly is an ebony jewelwing. Which is a very cool name to have.

Photo: Monochrome. A mostly white, entirely wet, retriever (in profile) is in the midst of lunging herself across the shallows of a gravel beach (left to right), hind legs still planted but front legs mid-air. She may be wet, but she's happy.

Panoramic Cellphone Photo: On a partly cloudy day under a blue sky, a trail bends towards us and then away from us as it wraps itself around an open midwestern field. On the trail we see a runner. Three times: approaching us from the left, right in front of us (distorted), and far away and getting farther on the right.
