But the shift had failed. Something that had never happened to him before. And since the failed shift, he'd never been able to alter his form. Not back to normal, and not to his full panther form. His ears were now permanently stuck as a pair of panther ears sticking out of the top of his head. A long, sleek tail jutted out at the base of his spine. Patches of soft black fur covered his body, seamlessly transitioning from human skin to fur and back again. And if you looked closely at his eyes, you could see the slight yellow tint that they'd taken on instead of his usual hazel. If you hadn't known him prior to Mexico, you likely wouldn't notice the difference in his eye colour. But Ghost still didn't like to make eye contact with people because of it. He could see the difference when he looked in the mirror. So, in his mind, everyone could see the difference. Could see that he was a freak.

Crippled myself today, building 6 pieces of furniture, so no chapter of anything going out. I offer a description of the trapped form that shifter Ghost has found himself in in recompense!
