Movie poster for Foul Play (1978). Goldie Hawn and Chevy Chase embrace in the center, his arms wrapped around her from behind, both grinning. The title is rendered in groovy orange lettering. Tagline reads: "A new comedy thriller from the creators of Silver Streak." Small print notes the main title song is sung by Barry Manilow. Fun fact: Burgess Meredith (also Mickey from Rocky, released the same year) plays Gloria's eccentric neighbor Mr. Hennessey, and somehow shares the film with a scene-stealing dwarf, an albino hitmen, and Dudley Moore as a sex-crazed British bachelor. It's a lot. In the best way.
In the second aisle of the covered lot at PCC flea market, there’s a stall. Last month I walked past a Foul Play poster (Goldie Hawn, Chevy Chase, 1978) and kept walking. Told myself: don't be ridiculous. Where would you even hang it? (1/10) 🧵
