Pre-kid, I rocked a dress like this. 1932 crêpe backed silk satin, sheath dress, cut to hug the body. Absolutely love it! Would love to pull a dress like this off again, in an exciting (and more forgiving) colour. Photograph showing a cream silk satin, floor length evening dress cut on the bias with twisted ropes of fabric providing interest around the neck and arm holes. On display in the textile collection at The Bowes Museum, Barnard Castle. Technically not a palace but if you saw the building it was built in the style of one and it has a very fancy garden too. Well worth a visit and so much on display. Their storage methods of such amazing works are fascinating too!
