The vexillation fort at Clyro is a large site, covering roughly 26 acres. It was established around A.D. 60 as part of #Roman attempts to subdue the #Silures tribe of mid #Wales

Although 1000s of individuals would have sat on town councils in #Roman #Britain few known by name. At #Caerwent we have an inscription where the 'ordo' council of the #Silures are dedicating a pedestal to the former proconsul/legate Ti.C.Paulinus.
