WIP extract book 1 of 6 SlenderWolf Conflicts and Alliances Chapter 10 The Wok Wok Bird “Isn’t that hat simply delightful” says KristalClear, “shouldn’t your boyfriend be wearing a hat too?” “Oh, thank you!” says Shanti, “my husband doesn’t wear hats much, unless it’s pouring with rain, Rishi claims that his dark skin is protection enough again the sun.” “He’s so lucky, I’m so fair that I’d soon turn red if I had too much sun.” “Me too,” says Shanti, “he’s only like that because we spent all our teenage years at the beach, he was always swimming in the sea. I spent most of that time under a beach umbrella, and limiting the swimming I did.” “Oh I wish I could swim!” responds KristalClear, “but we don’t have a beach in Lancaster. Dash can swim, he learnt at Mulberry Basin. Do you live in Ulverston? I didn’t even know there was a beach there.” Dragging NutJob into the conversation, she adds, “This is my boyfriend Dave, I call him Dash, because he’s always dashing off to do things!” “Rishi, come here,” says Shanti, “ this is the nice couple we saw in PotentialEnergy before we sailed.
