oh my days 😅

For my first time experimenting with unity, I wanted to mess with the scaling tools to make unique shapes— so I made a bookshelf out of cubes and cylinders!

I was also curious about textures and color, so I just had to give it that touch hahaha

I'm currently looking through 3D models online that are free to use for Unity Projects, I think it would be cool to add models into future projects! However, I do think 2D art made on my own could be better, as I can keep the style consistent. #smallgamestudio

I found this scene of The Beginner's Guide super interesting because of the audio, it was unsettling how it sounded like both rapid wind and people screaming. I think it made the level feel very high stakes despite the limited mechanics. #smallgamestudio

Getting started in Unity for my class on video game development! I have always wanted to get into video game development, so it is nice to start now (even if I had to struggle with loads of errors at the beginning). I know this isn't easy, but that hasn't stopped me before!

Hey everyone! I just finished up my first project in Unity- I wanted to make it a weird obstacle course! I enjoyed meshing different shapes together to make different structures. In the future, it would be cool to adjust how high the player can jump to make it harder! #smallgamestudio

I ended up adding some cubes so the player can traverse up and land in the middle of the tree. I'm not too sure why I added it, probably just to get more used to the software. It's a bit of a hassle trying to get the objects to line up neatly, I'm wondering if there's a shortcut...

I'm currently playing around with Unity for the 1.1 Hello World homework assignment and I think Unity has been a friendly software so far. It's my first time using it and I'm having fun playing around with the lighting, both with the sun and also with glowing objects.

This takes me back to the days when I'd build Minecraft maps. Some colorful cubes have been manipulated, and walking and sprint speeds, as well as gravity and jump power, have been tweaked.
I'm looking forward to making a walking simulator to experiment with lighting and shadows.

While working on the first project, I started to think about how to incorporate the toggling animations we saw while playing The Beginner's Guide. These characters (that are a little dead on the inside :) will probably become a recurring element of my game with a bit of polish. #SmallGameStudio

After doing the Beginner's Guide play through with the rest of class, I really enjoyed how the game demonstrated the impact of a small game. This photo from the game showed my favorite segment of Coda's work. The colors, music and narrator's voice made it extremely comforting.

My favorite game in The Beginner's Guide was definitely the cleaning segment. I felt that this part's music and layout served to give off a melancholic feeling, but also the dialogue (and the way it avoids saying what it wants to) felt really touching. I want to capture this mood 2

This is a screenshot from the Hello World assignment! Player movement is possible in this version, though it's really easy to accidentally run off of the plane and fall into the void. It's definitely exciting to have a "working" 3D game though!

Hello! This is Ellie Kim! I'm looking forward to taking CDM 175. I've never used Unity or attempted to make a game that wasn't a visual novel, so I'm really excited to try it out! Excited to learn to develop games alongside everyone else!

Hi guys! I'm Alex and I'm excited to take CMD 175 with you all! While playing The Beginner's Guide this week, I thought there were some really fun ideas with changing the contrast, angles, and player speed that I hope to play with as I start the project this week! #SmallGameStudio

I’am doing rigging a model in Blender. Blender has an automatic rigging feature, but I'm not sure why it isn't working for this model. So now, I'm rigging it. The bone weights are a bit hard to adjust.(The mouse model was sourced from the Poly Haven website.)

I’am trying to add a body to the player, but the results so far are not very ideal. I have set the character model as a child object of the “First Person Character” to let the model follow the player’s move. #smallgamestudio

I started my first Unity project and tried making a sailboat. During the process, I learned how to use the position, scale, and rotation tools. It took me a minute to figure out the best way to move around the space. #smallgamestudio

Today I just finished my first game demo in the Unity game engine. To be honest, compared with my imagination of game development, the actual process is more boring and difficult. However, when I completed a phase of the game demo, I suddenly felt proud of my work. Keep locked in! #SmallGameStudio

I especially like the Jail scene in beginner's guide. The multiple similar type of jail games created by coda make me sense a feel of deep-down loneliness from him. He must be felt trap into some emotional jail during the process of making those jail games. #SmallGameStudio

games!... just, PLEASE don't play mine LMAO, I REALLY was overambitious for it but I really did believe that if I didn't have to worry about my other classes I would've been able to pull it off XD definitely gonna try my hand at game jams over the summer~ antercom.itch.io/huckster

I think that copying ideas from other games, even if they’re good, isn’t always the best choice, this game already has its own style. But in the future, I’d love to start fresh and make a card game using what I’ve learned, since it’s easier to build a complete product in my opinion.

MemoryMaze by RS_TRC Play in your browser

In the future Id like to expand the memory content and rearrange their positions, turn this gmae into more narrative-driven, and like I mentioned, I might also let player control a moving 3D thinginstead of just a ball of a 2D spiete.
